I’m a creative writer, editor, and health communication consultant, specializing in public health. Written words are my thing because I think they are a powerful tool to invoke positive change.
My goal with EVR Creative is to help people through words and stories. It’s that simple. By translating jargon-heavy research into accessible and creative health communications, I help bridge gaps between public health labs and communities.
My background is in public health, and when I take on health topics, wielding a pen and a good sense of wit is when I feel most alive. Editing and writing allow me to lend one ear to precision, the other to creativity. These diametrically opposed forces meet in the middle (my brain), making me a good editor and writer. EVRy word matters for expressing meaning and innovation, from the data-driven scientific manuscript to a catchy health promotion campaign.
I write because I have things to say. Whether it’s writing for a client, my blog, or even just a card, words help me try to help others. And, from George Eliot, “What do we live for if not to make life less difficult for each other?” Words are my attempt at doing just that.
A few things I’ve done with EVR Creative:
- Write for Verywell Health, an online resource for trusted, accessible health information
- Write for MyHealthTeam, a social network with health information for people with chronic conditions
- Edit scientific, public health-oriented papers for university researchers and academics
- Create blog content, using scientific research and lived experience to promote and improve health
- Written comic book episodes to help kids return to school safely during the COVID-19 pandemic
- Co-developed an e-manual to stay socially and physically healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic
- Made over 100 cards on a one-for-one basis to combat loneliness
- Created social media posts as mini health communication campaigns, via EVR Healthy
When I’m not writing or editing for EVR Creative, I can usually be found writing in my notebook, reading, running, or making lists.
