Line editing

Copyediting

EVRy word matters. When we read our own writing, our eyes see what they want to see—they fill in the blanks, correct typos, and insert pauses—so it is vital to have that second pair of eyes. This is where copyediting comes in.

• Gets at the nitty-gritty: spelling, punctuation, grammar (e.g., to hyphen or not; semicolon or period; the their, they’re, there complex)
• Improves syntax (a.k.a. proper arrangement of words and phrases in a sentence)
• Includes basic fact-checking
• Ensures the reader does not get tripped up by the small mishaps and instead glides through the prose
